At Nature Responsible Safari Uganda, we believe that travel should not only be about exploring breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife but also about making a positive impact on the communities we visit. Our "Giving Back to the Community" initiative is at the heart of our operations in Uganda.
By booking safaris with us, you’re not just embarking on an unforgettable adventure—you’re also contributing directly to the well-being of local communities.
Giving Back to the community Project No1:
Both women’s empowerment and environmental conservation seek to coexist because the Elephants Dung Project is led by women who engage in clearing up problems and turning them into opportunities for the community. Farmers are compensated for the cost of the elephant dung for sale.
The farmers are able to avoid significant losses as well as foster peaceful relationships with wild animals. As the process of gathering, collecting and transforming the elephant’s poop into artistic crafted and handmade eco paper is completely undertaken by the women in the Kataara Women’s Cooperative in Kichwamba Uganda.
Francisca and Isolde owners of Nature Responsible Safari in Tanzania and Uganda, who endorses this groundbreaking project, purchased there a visitor book for the company lodge in Tanzania which has been made from the cooperative with their handmade paper of elephant dung. It is narrating such stories; the laughter of children and many appliqués of the elephant dung cause this project to be perfect for the community because its initiators are its women.
The 2nd project we support
One of the many kind-hearted teachers who are eager to make a difference is Dan, the founder of Ishasha Children Care. He helps unreached groups such as street children orphans and half orphans and gives them an education so that they can become self-sufficient in the future.
With his direction some children are offered training in practical skills like sewing and handicrafts in order to help them make a living. There are those who cannot be students for many reasons starting from learning to getting to the university levels. He does not stop at just ensuring their education, he is also actively working on shifting the focus and understanding among these young children towards being responsible and self-sufficient.
He also focuses on encouraging respect for wildlife and the ecosystems at large, a cause that is close to his heart. In fact he educates them on the fact that a healthy wildlife population is good for the environment as well as brings in tourists, which provides jobs. Tourism also provides a way for the children of Uganda to look to the future as the nation and its people develop.
This teacher demonstrates through Ishasha Children Care how education and upliftment of the people goes hand in hand with conservation and for this very reason, I hope a lot of people are inspired
